Surface for marble plaster

In the event of non-observance of the conditions, various defects may occur. For example, if the base has not been prepared, then a new layer of plaster can peel off. And the spots that were present before on the surface will leak. This, in the end, will spoil the whole appearance of the coating. Advantages of marble plaster

  • is not susceptible to ultraviolet light;

Application technology

It is important to make sure that the surface is clean, it is dry and there are no any irregularities, defects, cracks or protrusions on it. If the surface was previously covered with all kinds of paints, the composition of which is unknown, it should be treated with alkyd solutions.

This also applies to any metal surfaces. If there are signs of corrosion on them, it is important to apply the appropriate alkyd or epoxy solutions. This is necessary in order to prevent the emergence of color divorce or stains on the layers of plaster applied.

The application of marble plaster is carried out on a pre-primed surface. The primed surface dries for about 24 hours at a temperature of at least 20 ° C and relative humidity of about 60-70%.The finished primed surface should have a maximum humidity level of 10%, and the air temperature should be between +5 and +30 ° C.

Further decorative marble plaster is applied to the prepared( primed) surface. This plaster should not be applied in adverse weather, that is, in case of excessive sun or rain. Especially it is not recommended to perform the procedure under direct sun exposure.

It is necessary to choose such weather conditions( temperature and solar radiation), which will allow to control the polymerization and drying of plaster. Due to this, it is possible to avoid the appearance of a pale shade or color spots that are created as a result of uneven staining, prolonged or premature drying under unfavorable conditions.

Decorative plaster with marble chips is applied with the help of special tools and protective equipment. This: a bath by volume for 25 kg of material( preferably with a metal stirrer), a metal trowel, a grater made of stainless steel, an electric extension, a flat brush with an elongated handle, an electric drill. Also necessarily required: cotton gloves, measuring tape, polyethylene, stepladder, soffit, paint tape.

There are special videos on many online resources that describe the process. Marble stucco, video with lessons on the application of which is presented on the portals, will help you create an unusually cozy and harmonious environment. After a little training on this technology, you get a wonderful interior, worthy of admiration.

The next stage is applying marble plaster with a metal trowel and a steel float. The thickness of the layer should be as small as possible( no more than 1.5-2 crumbs).After 15-30 minutes of drying, grouting is carried out. The base is corrected and smooth. This is helped by a damp stainless steel grater.

The surface should dry for 24-48 hours at a temperature of at least + 5 ° C.Only under such conditions the material is evenly distributed and solidifies. If color patches appear after the whole procedure, then it is necessary to re-apply the top layer to the entire surface of the wall.
