Toilet in the dacha with their own hands

Toilet in the country is vital. Of course, if the dacha is used for year-round living, you need to think about building a warm bathroom inside the house with a sewer system. If staying at the dacha is exceptionally seasonal, it is quite simple and quick to build a toilet outside. And for this you do not even have to dig a cesspool. It is widespread to build country-house restrooms with a barrel instead of a cesspool.

Installing a plastic barrel

To build such a toilet you will need a plastic barrel with a capacity of 200-220 liters.

The barrel is digging in the throat into the ground. There is an option to dig into the ground capacitance without constriction, into which you can insert a second capacity of a large volume, as in the photo. The external tank will serve to form a pit, the inside will serve to collect waste. Around the outer tank gravel is poured.

The next step is to build a foundation. In our case, the structure is attached to the shed - it's easier and does not take too much time, so the need for a foundation is missing.

You can see the detailed construction process in the photoreport. The area under the toilet is leveled, and the foundation is laid out by the finish material - for example, paving slabs.

A frame is installed on the base.

Construction of the frame of the toilet

The frame will consist of supporting posts of the outer wall, the lower and upper strapping, for which you can take the beam 100 per 100. For the bars of the frame on the adjacent wall with a household block, you can use a 100-by-50 section board or a 100-by-25 board.

All parts of the frame are treated with impregnation for a tree like Senezh. For work, you need a screwdriver and mounting brackets. The height of the walls of the toilet in the cottage is usually 200-220 cm.

After the pillars are connected by cross-arms, you need to make the bottom harness at the level of the future cover-the seats.

The frame of the front wall of the toilet is installed taking into account the door, the width of which for convenience should be at least 70 cm.

The vertical of the frame must be checked at every stage of construction by a plumb line. The roof frame is made with a slope of 12-15 degrees, so that snow does not accumulate on the roof in winter.

Outer sheathing

First of all, the door is mounted and the roof is laid. Then you can proceed to the walls of the dacha toilet. Walls can be sewed with a board, OSB slabs, plywood - any improvised material. The material for the skin must either be pretreated with impregnation for wood, or it must be waterproof.

Mounting the podium

Next you can start the internal work - the installation of the seat( podium). For the skeleton of the podium used bars, remaining from the installation of the main frame, for the plating - plywood or OSB slab.

The parts are fastened with screws, the top cover is hung on the hinges. Opposite the barrel a hole is cut into which a toilet seat with a lid is installed.

After painting the garden toilet, built by own hands, will look from the inside comfortably and aesthetically. Having looked at the photos and video of the construction process, you will see that this is even in the hands of a novice master.

Ventilation and lighting

For better ventilation, it is possible to cut a hole under the roof and insert a ventral grill. To improve the hood in the outer wall of the podium, you can mount a weak supply fan, which is switched on simultaneously with light.

The lamp with the switch is last installed.

For the chemical dissolution of waste, many use special reagents that further remove the unpleasant odor. If the ventilation system and chemical reagent are chosen correctly, the smells in the room are completely excluded.
