Elastic plaster for exterior and interior decoration

Before we study the properties of the material of interest to us, let's recall what is plaster in general? To begin with, the name comes from the Italian word "stuccatura", which means "smearing", and the Italian word is nothing more than a derivative of "stucco" - putty, gypsum, alabaster. Starting from the last term, you can guess that the basis for many plaster marks is gypsum, and its substitute is lime. There are also cement-sand plasters, which, in fact, are used for facade works. And after a short period of time - cracks, cracks. ..

The walls of the house are almost never static: then vibration, then shrinkage, then expansion / contraction of materials due to temperature changes. The house lives its own life, and under the influence of inexorable time is covered with a network of cracks and wrinkles. But the building itself can stand for centuries, and how many times it will throw off the plaster, like old leather, how much time, effort and money will be spent on an endless series of repairs? Is it not better to immediately use elastic trim, which, firmly adhering to the surface of the wall, as if tightens all the irregularities, like a rubber shell. Outside, such plaster resists sharp changes in temperature, does not notice rainfall and even after an earthquake, when the walls are subjected to some deformation, there will not be a single fracture-crack on the elastic plaster.

This material is perfect for interior decoration, rooms with such a coating of the walls look elegant, and if you consider that the flexible is of a variety of colors and shades, it generally becomes indispensable for finishing living rooms. In the premises, elastic plaster can completely replace the textured and decorative. Used without tinting, it can be painted in any colors, moreover, the art painting applied to it never peels and does not crack. The only thing to remember is that the elastic plaster is made on the basis of acrylic, and the paints on it will best lie with the same component in the composition, that is, acrylic. It remains to be wondered why the usual ones are still used.

Flexible facade plaster in support of the general style of the building

Facade finishing usually becomes the final stage in construction or repair work, and the choice of material depends when you need another wall decoration. Therefore, the best option for you will be a flexible facade plaster, very different from plaster or lime. To begin with, such a plaster based on acrylic resins retains its color in any climatic conditions. However, if you suddenly want to update the walls, it is enough to take a container with latex paint( acrylic base), a brush and within a few hours the walls will change the color without damaging the coating.

The decorative finishing of the facade should be carried out in the general style of the building, which means that relief plaster may be needed. And again we return to the flexible plaster, remembering that it can be used as an invoice( as mentioned earlier).Actually, with such a replacement, the application technique remains the same - the tool must move along the wall so that significant traces remain that create a relief covering the wall.

Surface preparation is carried out as for any other plaster for the facade - thorough cleaning from crumbling elements, dirt, dust and grease stains. At the same time, for the application of flexible facade plaster, priming is not always required as a preliminary surface treatment. But the result will be stunning, and most importantly, almost eternal( if the wall does not hurt anything heavy).

Flexible plaster, its advantages with interior trim

Who worked with conventional gypsum and lime plasters, perfectly remembers how long the skin of hands was restored. With gypsum, that cement-sandy - virtually any kind of plaster literally pulls moisture out of the skin while at the same time slightly corroding it. Acrylic elastic plaster is a water-dispersion mixture, which indicates its sufficient saturation with moisture. Therefore, it will not dry the skin of hands even without using special protective measures.

When working with flexible plaster for you, there will be a surprise in the absence of splashes. But there's nothing to be surprised about, simply thanks to the excellent adhesion( adhesion), the plaster rests on the spatula as well as on the wall. At the same time, it does not stick to the polished surface of the instrument to such an extent as to remain on what it was scooped up, rather than move to the wall. The elastic plaster is distributed ideally evenly, however, having started to work with one wall, be sure to finish the work, from the angle to the corner , because the seams are a weak spot of acrylic plaster.

And when all the works with elastic plastering are finished, think about that, perhaps, even your grandchildren will also just enjoy a smooth or textured, but in any case, neat wall covering.
