Preparation of work: marking the corner shelf, tools
If you do not want to mess with making a corner shelf for the bathroom, then, of course, you can buy it in the store. On the other hand, its creation can be proudly shown to the guests and it will be cheaper to cost, and yet it will be a unique exclusive. So, what is useful for us:
- MDF;
- jigsaw;
- milling machine;
- drill with a set of drills;Rope and simple pencil;
- level;
- metal ruler;
- self-tapping screws;
- brackets;
- acrylic paint and brush.
- We begin the layout of MDF.Buy a full plate is not necessary, because our shelf will not be large. You can even solicit in the shop illiquid pieces of material, maybe even give it away for free. Next, we need to know the size of the sheet. We measure from the angle along the wall to the desired depth of the bottom shelf, multiply the resulting figure by 2 and add another 5 cm, designed for trimming the corner.
- We mark the plate with a rope and a pencil. We put a sheet of MDF on the table, at the center of the plate, we pin the end of the rope with the button, on the other end of which is already attached a pencil. Then we act on the principle of the compass, pulling the tight rope, outline the circle. The length of the cord from the pencil to the button is calculated based on the radius of the circle.
- We divide the circle into 4 sectors, draw with a metal ruler. We work exactly - the shelves should be the same size, otherwise they will have to be long and tedious.
Cutting and assembling the parts of the angled shelf
After you are completely sure of the accuracy of the marking, we begin the sawing of the parts with an electric jigsaw. Hand hacksaw does not work out a smooth edge, and the shelf will look messy.
- First cut out the drawn circle. We conduct the tool strictly on the outlined line without the slightest deviation. Do not worry if there are small chips - at home on a low-power jigsaw this is inevitable. Ideal edge can only come out at a high speed of the machine.
- Next, cut the circle into 4 parts, cut the corners( remember 5 cm).It is necessary that a bar is attached to this environment, on which all the shelves will be fastened.
We begin the assembly. First we make a rough assembly to mark out the holes for the screws and drill them. We collect all the elements of the shelf, we sit on the PVA glue and screw it for additional strength. Constantly check the level of assembly level.
Having gathered together the elements of the shelf, the side, it's time to think about how to make a shelf so that nothing permanently falls from it. You can make skirts, a kind of railing. The final touch - we paint our masterpiece with acrylic paint to match the entire interior of the bathroom.
