Features of fixing the
material So, in order to make the diode illumination of the mirror in the bathroom, it is necessary to perform the following actions:
- Acquire the appropriate length of the LED strip( monochrome or multicolor).If the length of the material is more than 5 meters( for lighting a large mirror), buy special connectors - connectors. In addition, you need a power supply of suitable power( at least 50% more than the power of the entire tape) and connecting wires. If you bought an RGB model of a luminaire, you need to purchase an additional controller.
- Choose the appropriate way to attach the backlight to the mirror. You can independently paste the material from the inside, which will make an original and at the same time hidden lighting of the contours of the object, as shown in the photo at the beginning of the article. The second way is to additionally purchase an aluminum LED profile and fix it on the mirror surface on the back side, which is easy.
- Thoroughly degrease the surface before gluing, otherwise this light will not be fixed for a long time.
- Attach the backlight and go to the LED strip connection. Complexities at this stage should not arise. To connect the lamp it is necessary according to the following scheme: tape - power supply - 220 Volt network. If you decide to make a multicolor( RGB) model illumination, you need to connect the controller between the power supply and the LEDs as shown in the diagram below:
After connecting the LED mirror illumination, you can turn on the ready lighting and check the correctness of all the work done. As you can see, nothing is complicated and anyone can make decorative highlighting independently. However, it is necessary to take into account several important points that we highlighted:
- power supply, controller and backlight switch better to take out of the bathroom for electrical safety reasons. By the way, it is recommended to buy a waterproof tape for lighting as well. The mirror is usually above the washbasin, and as you understand the contact of electricity and water is extremely dangerous;
- cutting material is only needed in special places that are marked by the manufacturer, as shown in the photo below:
- if for some reason it does not work to glue the luminaire on the back of the mirror surface, you can glue it to the tile under the mirror. Mainly degrease the surface thoroughly.
Alternative lighting options
If you do not fundamentally need to make a built-in mirror illumination in the bathroom around the perimeter of the object, you can organize another, equally comfortable lighting option. With this task, the spots - the spotlights on the brackets, which can be manually directed to either side - can do a good job. A very good idea, which allows you to change the lighting area depending on what you do - shave near the mirror( or apply makeup) or take a bath. 
Another idea of lighting - the use of special lamps for the bathroom. There is a wide range of lamps that can be attached to the mirror surface or tiles on suckers and clothespins. In addition, there are lamps that are easily installed in a horizontal position above the mirror or in an upright position on both sides, which allows you to make high-quality lighting throughout the area nearby.
