At first the plan - the small scheme of the future product is made. In the scheme it is necessary to describe in as much detail as possible the shish kebab, to specify the dimensions of each part. The most convenient is a brazier with a height of 85 cm and a brazier size of 40x80 cm.

In addition to drawing up a scheme, you should take care of consumables.

Please note! It is undesirable to use too thick steel sheets in the work, otherwise the construction will be difficult to lift. Steel should be a thickness of 0.4 cm to 1 cm.

Stage 2. Consumables

The following are the components for making shish kebabs in height of 85 cm.

Supports:

  • 4 iron legs 65 cm long from a corner or pipe ø2.5 cm;
  • a pair of elbows or pipes ø2 cm for the horizontal connection of the legs( each such connection will be 76.5 cm in length).

Brazier :

  • two walls measuring 77x20 cm, made of steel sheet;
  • a pair of transverse walls 39x20 cm;
  • metal mesh 39x77 cm;
  • a pair of transverse pipes for the bottom of a 39 cm long structure;
  • two iron handles for easy transportation;
  • several fireclay bricks.

Please note! Instead of a grid with cross-pieces, one single sheet of 39x77 cm can be used.

A cover of the appropriate size with longitudinal edges curved inwards is also required.

Stage 3. Welding works

Then all the cooked elements must be welded or bolted together.

Step 1. First the body is welded from the walls and the bottom( the use of bolts will be discussed below).

Step 2. The legs are welded to the body.

Step 3. The legs are strengthened by a longitudinal link, preferably at a height of 15 cm - so there will be a stock between them for storing firewood.

Step 4. If a metal mesh was used for the bottom of the brazier, then fireclay bricks are laid. Small holes are made in the longitudinal walls( 5 pieces on each side, step - 10 cm) to supply oxygen( so the firewood will be faster to burn).

Step 4. Painting brazier

First we'll figure out whether it is necessary at allto paint a shish kebab. On the one hand, paint, as well as other chemical agents, it is undesirable to apply to the brazier, since the cooked meat will absorb harmful substances. On the other hand, the current means used to paint shish kebabs are absolutely safe.

Please note! The problem can only become a high combustion temperature, which can lead to delamination or even combustion of the paint layer.

Among all fireproof coatings for braziers it is recommended to choose the following:

  • silicone enamel that can withstand temperatures up to 600 ° C;
  • thermal powder paints are effective, but difficult to apply( require high-temperature roasting);
  • oxidation technology.

The latter option fits most. Initially, the body is treated with 5 percent sulfuric acid, then boiled in a solution of laundry soap and brewed for 1.5 hours in infusion of caustic sodium. As a result, a non-stick layer of black color is formed on the structure, protecting it from rust.

Fixed barbecue with canopy

After manufacturing a stationary barbecue, it is desirable to build a canopy for it. There is a mass of materials that can be used for this with minimal time and money. Unless the iron construction can not be performed without welding( if desired, it can be replaced with a bolt).

Supports canopies are usually welded to the legs of the brazier, but sometimes there are very dimensional structures( 4x4 m), for which four metal posts are concreted.

On top of the poles on the perimeter of the canopy are laid corners 5x5 cm, and on top of them - metal profile or any other roofing material. If desired, the canopy is decorated with forging.

Wooden canopy is easier to make, but the surface should be treated with antiseptic and fire retardant.

Please note! Picking up a barrel, special attention should be paid to its "past".If it used to store chemical substances or petroleum products, then it is forbidden to use it to create a brazier.

In addition to the barrel itself, you should prepare:

  • a steel corner with a shelf height of at least 4.5 cm;
  • four rubber wheels( preferably with a metal base);
  • two sets of door hinges;
  • the door handle( iron);
  • metal mesh;
  • bulgarku, drives to it;
  • welding;
  • electric jigsaw.

Instruction for manufacturing

Step 1. Cut lengths of a corner of the required length. The height of the structure should be approximately 1 m, and the width should correspond to the length of the barrel.

Step 2. The side elements will consist of two horizontal and two vertical racks each. The first will be installed from the bottom, about 25 cm from the bottom edge of the vertical racks, and from above, at the level of the barrel radius. Racks are laid out on a flat surface and welded as shown in the image - at an angle of 90ᵒ.

Step 3. The second side of the structure is welded in the same way, after which both elements are connected by means of two corners installed at the level of the lower horizontal racks.

Please note! Connect with extreme caution in order to avoid distortions.

Step 4. The wheels are attached to the sidewall.

Step 5. Next on the ready support is installed a barrel. This should be done in such a way that the drain hole is located behind and from the top at an angle of 30ᵒ, on the right side( in relation to the front part).Such an opening will serve as an exhaust hood.

Step 6. With the help of chalk notes ¼ of the barrel - the cover of the shish kebab. The marked part is cut with an electric jigsaw, the edges are carefully sanded with a grinder with a grinding disc.

Step 7. To the quarter of the barrel the door hinges are attached, after which they connect to the base - the lid is ready. For easy operation, the door handle is attached to the cover.

Step 8. A pipe of the appropriate diameter is inserted into the hood.

Step 9. It remains only to take care of the internal arrangement. On the inner surface of the body are welded special holders( iron plates 3 x 6 cm, although you can take thin corners).These holders are installed in the middle of each side, two pieces each.

Please note! For convenient transportation to the frame of the brazier, you can attach the handle. After that, the structure is painted in the same way as described in the previous paragraph of the article.

There is another option - to purchase ready-made coal briquettes in the store. Briquettes give a permanent heat, but at the same time there is no flavor. There is still loose coal, but it burns unevenly because of the different size of the pieces.

Before grilling the grill should be greased, so that the products do not stick to it. And the last thing: place for the installation of the brazier should be cleaned in advance from dry grass, branches, debris, it is also desirable that there is always a bucket of sand nearby.
