Idea # 1 - LED strip
It's best to connect a single-color or multi-color( RGB) LED tape down the contour of the bed. In the first case, you only need a ribbon with diodes and a suitable power supply. In the second case, you also need to buy an RGB controller and a control panel to create a suitable backlight shade. 
So, to make the LED lighting yourself under the bed in the bedroom, you must perform the following actions:
- Select the LED strip of suitable length( measure the perimeter of the bed).Also select the appropriate power supply, the power of which should be 20-30% more than the total capacity of the tapes. In addition, a two-wire 1.5 mm2 wire, plastic clips for attaching the backlight under the bed, a microswitch and a soldering iron are required.
- Choose the option of connecting the tape to the network. We recommend that you immediately see the connection diagrams of RGB tapes from 5 to 20 meters. In our example, the following connection scheme is considered:
- Determine the exact location of the power supply unit and tape under the bed. It is better to place the backlight on the bottom of the side of the bed. We advise attaching the power supply with a yoke under one of the slats. Visualize the optimal option for attaching the backlight under the bed with your own hands. - Degrease that area of the bed on which the tape will be glued. For this, you can use special refined gasoline.
- According to the scheme to solder all the elements in one circuit. The microswitch must be connected to the power supply and placed in a convenient place, for example, near the head of the bed. We recommend you to make a soldering iron yourself, if this power tool is not in your home workshop.
- Check the correct connection by turning on the LED bed light.
Here you can easily make decorative lighting from the bottom of the bedside zone. A sensible addition to this idea is the connection of the motion sensor to the backlight, as shown in the video above. In this case, the LED strip will turn on only if the sensor detects movement in the bedroom, which will make the hidden lighting not only functional, but also economical!
Idea number 2 - Duralight
Another way to make a hidden backlight of the floor under the bed with your hands is to connect the duralight box( special luminous cord) along the contour. In this case, the creation of decorative lighting will also take a little time, and from materials you will only need a duralight, an electrical cable to connect to the network, special plugs, screws and fasteners. 
So, you can fix the duralight under the bed yourself as follows:
- Choose the suitable place for attaching the luminous cord.
- At each end of each duralight, secure the special plugs.
- Connect the power cable to the free ends.
- Attach the backlight to the bottom of the bed. Fasteners should be installed every 25 cm.
- Connect the cable to the network and check the finished decorative lighting.

By the way, another alternative option for creating lighting above the bed will be the connection of sconces or lamps behind the back.
